[#37] - Blendering on! Environmental Storytelling and Giorgio Grecu.

February 7, 2019

Evening all!

I hope you all had a nice week, mine was great and super busy, especially at work!

When it comes to outside of work stuff I have continued to focus on making some longer format tutorials and looking at ways that I can make them a part of the schedule and release them on certain regular times. Currently still figuring out the template, Length of these tutorials, release schedule and topics for these, so more on this in the future.

Also adding onto this as well is that I will steer away from video tutorials for now, I need to take it one step at the time and buildup the habit of having multiple scheduled things to do!
Lastly, I have been talking to a lot of people, giving feedback and providing help where I can, which is teaching me how to go about these things as well and prepare myself for doing this a lot more in the future, so if you are interested, ping me a message! :D

I did also find some time to do some more modelling and further get use to the Hotkeys and workflow of Blender, so I feel that I am really getting to grips with it now, but there are still things that I need to try out such as UV editing, Exporting, Materials, etc...

But I am really liking it so far though! The presentation, rendering and feel of the view-port feels really nice, looking forward to next weeks progress!

Some amazing concept art for you this week, seeing as I am a big fan of Sci-fi and watching the new Star Trek on netflix (before I can start watching this one (NightFlyers)) this immediately caught my attention, and I have been wanting to make an environment like this for ages.

A thing I really like about this concept is the contradiction between the cold feel of the metal and the blueish tones coming through the window against the lively colors of the trees and yellow light of the interior. But to be honest, what this really comes down to is the feeling that I get when I see these types of concepts, I just want to dive into 3D and start blocking out and building this space for myself.

So big thanks Giorgio Grecu for inspiring me, and I can't wait to see the show soonish!

All right people! That's going to do it for me for this week, I'll catch you in the next one!If you like these posts or if the tips are useful consider supporting me on Patreon and join all these other lovely people in getting access to the full Tips and Tricks compilation on: https://patreon.com/Beyondextent
