RULES

team challenge

FAILING TO FOLLOW THESE RULES CAN LEAD TO A DISQUALIFICATION OR SUSPENSION FROM THE CURRENT AND FUTURE CHALLENGES.

TECHNICAL RULES

We restrict the use of some workflows which are yet to be common within the industry and do help build skills for a general game workflow

NO UDIMS
NO NANITE
NO 3rd PARTY ASSETS (Everything in the scene must be created by your team)
NO PREVIOUS ASSETS (The challenge is to show what your team can make in 5 weeks)

SOCIAL AND TEAM RULES

▶ TEAMS MUST PRESENT THEIR PRODUCTION PLAN & BLOCKOUT AT END OF PRE PRODUCTION WEEK
Teams must present all the information required for the Milestone 1 Objectives at the end of the pre-production week

▶ SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGE EACH OTHER AND THEIR IDEAS
Everyone is encouraged to express their ideas, it's a good idea to get to common ground with the entire team. You are in this together.
This is a team challenge, so leave your ego at the door, if you can't work on an idea that has been chosen by your team, then are you really ready work in a team in the industry?

TEAM MEMBERS MUST USE TEAM CHANNELS
All communication needs to be done in official channels visible to your entire team and community staff. NO BACK CHANNEL CONVERSATIONS!
For workflow explanation requests we recommend you do it via your teams voice chat as its often the easy way to get this information across.

▶ KEEP YOUR TEAM  IN THE KNOW
Things can come up during the team challenges, it happens! If you have to reduce your time input or in the worst case leave, we understand. However you need to inform your team and the community builders of this, don't just disappear.

▶ TEAM MEMBERS MUST SYNC AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK
The team schedule must be discussed and agree upon during the pre-production week,
If differing time zones means everyone can to find that works for most. Remember you might need to be a little bit flexible.
The team organiser needs to record and share the meeting with other team members who couldn't make it.

▶ RESPECT EACH OTHER'S SKILL LEVEL
We do our best to keep the teams as balanced as possible, but there will still be a difference in skill levels regardless, so have respect for other people and their skill level.
Every effort should be made to support and encourage everyone in the team to make the project successful.

▶ ALL ASSETS NEED TO BE USED
All the assets from the team members need to be used in the final scene.

▶ INDIVIDUAL OWNERSHIP IS KEY
Give individual ownership, people working on assets want to have visual control and ownership over their actions and put something on their portfolio which is uniquely theirs, and because of this will be more invested as well and end up with better results.
Just make sure to support other team members if needed.

▶ COMMUNITY BUILDERS ARE THERE TO ASSIST
If there is anything you personally want to bring up, or feel that needs to be discussed in private, always feel free to chat to any of the Community Builders about this.

▶ ALL DISCORD RULES APPLY
All the other discord rules still apply to these challenges, these can be found in #Server_Rules in the Discord Channel.

▶ BEYOND EXTENTS RIGHT TO USE WORK
Upon signing up to participate in the team challenge, Beyond Extent is granted a distribute, modify, publish and otherwise use license to any content created in connection with the team challenges. This allows us to use this for future challenges, social media promotion and other means for any future content which is developed for Beyond Extent.
