Evening People!Farewell gift for 2019!Added some new compilation PDF's for people that are not a fan of the Patreon subscription model. I have split them up into yearly based breakdowns now and the complete edition that includes both 2018 and 2019.And the best thing is, is that they are all 30% off too!2018 recap: https://www.artstation.com/timothydries/store/p5D6/tips-and-tricks-compilation-2018-edition 2019 recap: https://www.artstation.com/timothydries/store/5OLW/tips-and-tricks-compilation-2019-edition Complete edition: https://www.artstation.com/timothydries/store/X1mp/tips-and-tricks-compilation-complete-edition 2019 Recap2019 flew by and what a year it was, so it's time to do an art recap and see what I will be carrying forward or will try to change in the new year as there is not better time to have a look back then on some of these thing with the new year approaching!Better time managementThis is the first thing I started noticing especially once we got closer to the end of the year and I started to reflect on things, I realised that there is still a lot of time that I spend procrastinating or being distracted by other things instead of what I should and normally want to be focusing on instead.I've been experimenting with a lot of different ideas in the past year to really start to self manage my time, and the thing that does work the best for me is making written notes or list of the stuff that I still need to do and this is also the thing that I have been neglecting somewhat in the last couple of months because I was trying it digitally but it didn't have the same effect. So from the new year I will be going back to the thing that works and sprinkle some deadlines in between!Finishing at least one projectThis brings me to the next point, and probably the biggest one that made me think about this year more in depth and that is because I haven't finished a project this year! So this sort of ties in with the first point too is that I feel like setting more deadlines and being more strict with myself is going to help a lot with. I will be setting a deadline for the project and then working picking more defined goals to works towards. This will hopefully speed up the process and allow me to finish more stuff quicker!Experimenting more on the art sideAnd then after all this has been done, I will be looking into the next thing I will be making, which is probably going to be more experimental and will be testing more stuff again. Because with the project that I have been doing at the moment might be a bit too restrcitive and prohibit me to do some more experimental stuff. This is not that to say that I'm bored to be working on the current project, because it's still something that really interests me and I want to push forward more especially on the design front and go even deeper into that side of things as that is something that will definitely help me.Some of the good stuffHowever, I don't want to focus on the negative only! There has been some awesome stuff that I have learned and has happened this year, so let's dive into some of these too. This was something that I really enjoyed to do and was a great experience when doing it and helping other people out too, and then the highlight was that one of the people I was helping actually got hired! This was such an awesome moment and it was great being able to help a person in this way and opening a door to a new venture in life, the sad thing was that it was taking too much time and I underestimated how much it would to be honest! Especially with still wanting to do my own art, do my blog and then do mentoring too. So if I want to pick it up at some time again then I need to be properly prepared this time and be ready to invest a fair portion of my own time into it as well as find a balance between super personal and more generic videos and such.Starting a PatreonProbably one of the best thing that most aligned with something that is near and dear to me is making more of a passive income and combining this with helping people out too. Obviously this are just the beginning steps and I love to experiment with what's on offer and how I can expand on this further and offer more value.Podcasts and more resourcesSpeaking about value, there have been some fun but stressful podcasts that I have been a part off this year. They have been a lot of fun to be a part of but even if I know that they will be super chill I still have stress before it all goes live or starts recording, it's probably some internet stage fright of some sort? This is something that I do want to keep doing though, especially in terms of more long form tutorials and maybe even video tutorials at some point, but we will see if when I can make the time to investigate that. For now I will just stick to the written tutorials (which I still have a couple of them in the cooker actually, again, need to be better at setting deadlines!)Victoriya Anda Artbook - Gates of Eodhhttps://www.artstation.com/anda/blog/GV8Y/gates-of-eodh-artbook-is-completeThis is something that has been a long time in the making since we both took part in the Artstation Challenge "Lost and Found" edition, where the challenge goes in two phases, first the concept artist draws the concepts and breaks them down and then a 3D artist goes in and makes them come to life. This is where our small collaboration came from, Victoriya made an awesome concept that she was going to use for her own world and art book and I was happy enough to make it come to life for the challenge. After the challenge she contacted me if she could include my work in the book and I was more than happy to say yes!So after a quiet a while it's getting closer, so congratulations on keeping it up Victoriya, can't wait to have my own copy in my hands :D,
